Of all my house plants, this Christmas Cactus is my favorite. Easy to grow and care for. All it needs is proper light exposure, correct temperatures and limited watering. I keep the Christmas cactus in my bedroom where it receives indoor indirect bright light during the daylight hours but total darkness at night. I usually water my plants every Friday, but in the winter I only water twice a month.
The plant starts to bloom the first week in December .... it is indeed a Christmas beauty!

Rebecca: What a beautiful looking cactus. This is a plant I might even be able to keep alive!
How about a poinsettia during the winter and summer I got a beauty for Christmas and I am trying to keep it alive
Hi Rebecca. That's a beautiful Christmas Cactus you have there. My wife would love to get her hands on one of those, since she is the one with the green thumb in our house.
Your Christmas Cactus plant is beautiful.
Happy New Year!

Rebecca, Indeed it is a beauty. It loves its place in your home and how it is cared for. It is not what comes to my mind when I hear the word "cactus." Happy New Year!
Rebecca - Without a doubt, that's a gorgeous Christmas plant.
One year, for one reason or another, a number of folks gave me a variety of Amaryllis bulbs in varying color. I put them all in pots, and a few weeks later they were all in bloom. I will never forget the joy they gave me.
Rebecca, what a beautiful plant, and I need plants that do not need a whole lot of attention! Better get to the nursery and check them out!
And yours is just gorgeous too, Rebecca. I just recently found out about the other colors they have. How long have you had this one?
What a lovely plant. I read the care instructions and doubt I can get one to bloom (not cold enough long enough) but she could live happily in my bedroom.
Howdy and evening Rebecca
Rebecca my friend, not only is your Christmas Cactus a mighty fine looking plant, the photo which you took sure is outstanding looking! You sure do take mighty good care of it.
Have a good one
Dale in New Hampshire
Anita, it is the best and easiest house plant...
Charles, after the leaves fall off the poinsettia, my friend store the plant in a closet in a bag....not sure if it bloomed the next year or not!
Jerry, surprise her with one ... there are so many different colors.
Roy, thank you! I love all of your flower photos!
Kathleen, thanks, the plant seems to really like it's new location in the house.
Myrl, Flowers give us so much joy!! I am so joyful and talk to the Christmas Cactus when it starts to bloom...well really I talk to it all the time :)
Joan, buy one for your home, you will love it and it does not need a lot of care.
Lee and Carol, I have had this plant for six years...
Marge, I'd suggest you buy one and see how well it does in your bedroom..you might be surprised.
Dale, thank you and I do little with the plant...and I talk to it!
Rebecca, such a beautiful and happy plant. You have a way with this lovely plant and it blooms for you. We were slammed all day today with a HUD marketing report and will be tomorrow as well. Should have it off our plates by end of day tomorrow. Why don't we think about speaking on Wednesday or any of the rest of the days in the week and see what you think will suit you best in helping you with you Fan Page on FaceBook. Hope you are enjoying the start of the New Year. Look forward to speaking soon.
Jeanean, thanks I think it is happy because I am always talking to it :) Will call Wednesday.
Rebecca--I LOVE Christmas cactus. Over the years I have had quite a few of them. You are so right about the little care they need. Most people can't kill them. I have had some that bloom several times during the year.
Thanks for stopping at my site recently. I appreciate your friendship.
Hi Mary, this one blooms until Feb/March.
What a beautiful cactus Rebecca! I love the color of the flowers. Happy New Year!
That is definitely a beautiful plant! I just may have to get one of these!

Enjoy each bloom. Mine are done this year, but the poinsetta is still beautiful.
