Part 7, New Businesses in Lewisburg, WV | Stella's Tea House
Stella’s Tea House offers the charm of a restored 1890's Victorian home with the best in American Cuisine located in the historic town of Lewisburg, WV, known as America's Coolest Small Town by Budget Magazine. After months of restoration, the owners, John and Dawn Hirt, and Tammy Hirt Perilli opened Stella's doors in January 2011. Read more about Stella's in a previous post.
When you first walk into the large foyer of the restaurant, you are greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere with beautifully decorated rooms and art displayed by local artists. Stella's was inspired by their mother, Alice Stella Hirt. She loved to cook and was always watching the Julia Child’s cooking show and always wanted to open a restaurant. She died at the young age of 56. In honor of their mother we named the restaurant Stella’s.
Chef Reed Vandenbergh, former owner/chef of the Moxie Café in Union, WV, is the Executive Chef. Stella's “Farm to Table” philosophy brings the fruits of the local growers and farmers right to your table. Herb and flower gardens are located on the property as well.
John Hirt hand-selects all the wines which are stored in a wine cellar on the premises. Besides wine, champagne and both imported and domestic beer are available.
You will also find outdoor dining on the front porch. For those nice cool evenings, heaters are provided to give customers warmth; and, for the hot summer evenings the breeze of the fans will make your meals so enjoyable.
Outside dining is available at Stella's new outdoor patio. For the customers who like eating outdoors, there is a ten foot fountain in the garden. During the warmer days, the fountain is surrounded by tables and flowers, with a gazebo nearby.

The seating capacity for Stella’s is 60. Reservations can be made for special events, weddings, showers and private parties. Stella's provides on-site catering for almost any event, from 12 to 120 people. Larger groups can be accommodated at their Westwinds Ranch off-site facility in Callaghan, VA.
