Part 4, New Businesses in Lewisburg, WV | Cosmic Cab Company
Lorrie Monte is originally from East Haddam, Connecticut, and has lived in Lewisburg for the past 30 years. Having been in the service industry for 35 years, Lorrie is comfortable serving the public. She was a waitress at the Stardust Cafe for a while, but was looking to start a business in Lewisburg that she could financially afford. While working at the Startdust Cafe, she noticed that Lewisburg was becoming a more popular tourist destination. (Of course, Lewisburg was voted "America's Coolest Small Town" by Budget Travel Magazine in 2011.)
Lorrie realized there was a niche to be filled in this small town. People were always asking about cab service. She started talking to businesses in town and found that financially starting a cab company was something she could do. "Mayor Manchester has been very supportive from the very beginning" says Lorrie.
So, in December, 2010....the Cosmic Cab Company was born! "After meetings with Mayor Manchester, and attending some town meetings, I was provided an area at the Greenspace for a cab stand in downtown Lewisburg," says Lorrie.

Lorrie and the employees of Cosmic Cab Company pride themselves on being safe, prompt, dependable and friendly.
