Part 3, New Businesses in Lewisburg, WV | Gillespie Brothers Fine Antiques and Furnishings

Mark and Lee Gillespie have been collecting, researching and dealing in silver (sterling, continental and fine silver plate) for over thirty years with a concentration on the elegant dining of the Victorian Era. While Lee was an educator at Lewisburg and Greenbrier East High Schools in the arts, as well as a professional musician; Mark was following his goal to train as an Interior Designer at the Art Institutes of Fort Lauderdale and Pittsburgh.
Upon realizing their mutual interest in silver and antiques, they started exhibiting at finer antique shows throughout the East and Midwest and lead to the publication of their book “Personal Silver of the Victorian Age and Beyond”. They have traveled extensively with shows as far West as Kansas City, Kansas; as far South as Austin, Texas and Jacksonville,
Florida and North including the New England states and Manhattan, New York.
Alexandria, Virginia was the home of their first antique store before relocating to Winchester, Virginia. A great deal of time was spent in Lewisburg helping their sisters and niece develop the business, TLP of West Virgina, Inc. (home of the Three Little Pigs Barbecue Sauce) leading to the idea of opening an antique store in Lewisburg, “Gillespie Brothers”. With the strong background gained from the years of training and study, they are now able to offer to the area a complete range of high end antiques and fine furnishing, Bridal Registry and lectures/demonstrations on Victorian Silver, as well as a complete design studio offering custom window treatment and upholstery services.
Following in the footsteps of the Gillespie branch of White Sulphur Springs who own Gillespie Flowers and Promotions, the entire Gillespie family covers all aspects of fine living from antiques, interior design, catering, floral presentations and rental for all types of events.
