Stella’s Restaurant, a charming, newly-renovated, 1898 home turned restaurant, is located in the historic town of Lewisburg, WV. When you first walk into the large foyer of the restaurant, you are greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere with beautifully decorated rooms with fresh flowers on the tables and beautiful art displayed by local artists. Stella’s Restaurant opened on Sunday, January 16 and you can enjoy
Lunch: Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday - 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Dinner: Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday - 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Sunday Brunch: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

The owner is John Hirt, and his sister Tammy Hirt Perilli is the General Manager.
Tammy is very excited about the restaurant and said “the restaurant was inspired by our mother, Alice Stella Hirt. She loved to cook and was always watching the Julia Child’s cooking show and always wanted to open a restaurant. She died at the young age of 56. In honor of our mother we named the restaurant Stella’s."
"Samantha Hall and Chef Reed VanDenBerghe, former owner/chef of the Moxie Café in Union, WV, are the Chefs for Stella’s. We strive to provide the freshest ingredients in everything we serve. Our “Farm to Table” philosophy brings the fruits of our local growers and farmers right to your table,” says Tammy.
The logo for the restaurant is Stella's tree. There are two birds in the tree representing Alice Stella Hirt and her husband John Hirt. The five eggs in the nest represent their five children: Casey, Nancy, John, Tammy, and Jay.

With a smile Tammy says, “Stella’s has five rooms named after our mother and her four sisters. They are Alice Stella, Grace, Lula, Nelda and Ann. Three of the rooms have a fireplace (Alice Stella, Grace and Nelda). Nelda is the Private Board Room, with French pocket doors, a fireplace and marble server. Ann’s Room is the bakery.” Each of the interior rooms, except the bakery, has an art bar for featuring art by the local artists."
"In the bakery is also a retail area where customers can buy Boar’s Head meats and cheeses, homemade pickles, and other miscellaneous items to take home or perhaps on a picnic. Stella’s will have their signature breads made by Jeff Kessler from Jeff’s Breads in Renick, WV."
“We have a nice variety of wines that are hand selected by my brother, John. Champagne and imported and domestic beer will also be served.”
There is a wine cellar on the premises and a ten foot fountain in the garden. During the warmer days, the fountain will be surrounded by tables and flowers, with a gazebo nearby. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served in the garden in a basket tray fashion. Tammy said, “We will grow our own herb garden and flowers for the restaurant.”
You will also find outdoor dining on the front porch. For those nice cool evenings, heaters are provided to give customers warmth; and, for the hot summer evenings the breeze of the fans will make your meals so enjoyable.
The seating capacity for Stella’s is 60. Reservations can be made for Special Events, weddings, showers and private parties. Two weddings have already been booked for this spring that will be held outside in the garden area. Call Stella's for more information.
Beginning on February 10, Stella’s will be serving dinner on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm.

Rebecca - I agree with Jane, what a great looking place. Nice little video too!

Hi Rebecca! I LOVE this post! And, Stella's tree--what a novel idea! Great localism post!
I have to tell you that I was up your way on Saturday to celebrate my grandmother's 100th birthday just outside of Pipestem. I had not a minute to spare or I would have loved to have met you! The countryside is just beautiful this time of year and I miss WV so much--I don't get there nearly as much as I used to.
Have a great week...
Wow, it's so clean looking....which I guess is a good thing for a restaurant!
Sharon, I like that trim as well...Stella's is a great restaurant.
Joni, thank you!
Ellen, the entire family is very sweet and most of them work at Stellas.
Debe, Pipestem is where we spent our honeymoon night; the following week we went to Hawaii. You probably do not remember,,,but we did meet in Charlotte during one of the very first raincamp. Perhaps it wasn't called rain camp, it was about 3 years ago.
Brenda, oh yes soooo clean.
Looks like my kind of place, Rebecca. I love restaurants that are like home. And, dining on the porch is just wonderful. Stella's is really cute!
Toni, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.. Stella's is like home!
