One Reason to go to the West Virginia State Fair
One of the many reasons people go to the West Virginia State Fair is to enjoy the great food.....and the one food item I am talking about is the cinnamon rolls. I attended the fair on Saturday. It was a great day for the fair, as the temperature was quite nice at about 80º and overcast for most of the day...but, no rain!
I stood in line for 20 minutes to buy four cinnamon rolls. The line was about 20 feet long, but no one was complaining because they new it was worth the wait.
While waiting in line, I took some pictures of the staff making the cinnamon rolls. The steps were:
- Roll dough
- Add lots of butter
- Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon
- Roll, slice and bake
- Spread icing over roll
That's all and the cost per roll was $6.00. Check out the slide below...
The cinnamon rolls were delicious! And, yes that is one of the reasons why I go to the state fair. What is your reason?

Oh how yummy! We'd stand in line for them too. Food, exhibits and people watching are our favorite part of going to the fair.
Lee and Carol...yes mine too, food, exhibits and people watching!

Rebecca, the state fair in Dallas, Texas was always my favorite as a kid. We've never been here in Shasta County. I'll have to see about this coming year. I think it is in the Fall. That cinnamon roll looks great. I love to pick up the jams and eat some pie! Great local fun!
Hi Rebecca - I'd wait in line just to smell cinnamon rolls baking! It's an aroma I'm sure you'll find in heaven.
This concession stand has been at the fair for 21 years and the rolls are made from scratch from a secret recipe. With one oven, the owners can turn out 10 dozen cinnamon rolls at a time. They are definitely the best I've ever had.
