I remember the first time I went to Fairlea for the State Fair.  It was absolutely overwhelming to me as a child, so many carnival rides, animals, so much food, and so many people.  Now living in Lewisburg, I take my family, nieces and nephews to the fair.  I love to see the children's faces, especially when they visit the agricultural buildings and see all the animals (horses, cows, pigs, rabbits, etc).  It is still overwhelming and I can tell the children have the same excitement as I did my first time to the fair.

Don't forget the date of West Virginia's largest state fair August 13-21, 2010....See you there!

DO YOU KNOW??? --  Where and when was the first West Virginia State Fair?

Sounds amazing Rebecca. We'd really like to see that Cirque Equinox performance, but my favorite part is always watching all the people and eating! We'll be looking forward to your future photos and post from your day at the WV State Fair.

Lee and Carol, I also like the circus and so do the children.

Lori, this is the biggest Fair in the state and the whole area here is bumper to bumper traffic for a week.  But, it is always a BIG success.

Steve, people come from all over the state and also camp for a week.  Some take a week and camp and go to the fair every day.

Rebecca, I remember going to the Kansas and Missouri state fairs when I was a kid and yes that was always a lot of fun.  The last time I was at a state fair was in Wisconsin, I think I was in my late twenties and it was still a lot of fun.
