Sleigh riding....AHHH to be young again. My neighbor's children every year come over to our house to sleigh ride down the hill in our back yard.
I love to watch them, as it brings back some great memories of when I was their age and sleigh riding ALL day with my sisters, brothers, and the neighborhood kids. The neighbors would have a tire to burn, and the fire kept us warm. Although when we would go home, the soot and smell of rubber would be all over us (skin and clothes). But, we couldn't wait to do it all over again the next day.
Ahh, to be young again. My husband did go out and do some sleighing....I would have too, but I am just getting over some surgery. But, if we have snow at Christmas...you can bet I will be out there sleighing with the kids.

Oh the joy to be cold and wet. It's only exceeded by the joy of getting warm and dry after a good day in the snow!
Dan, it is indeed a great joy.
With no snow here on the San Francisco Peninsula, I enjoyed a 9+ mile trail run through the redwood trees this morning--chilly, cloudy day--warm coffee with friends afterward, followed by a hot shower. Pure bliss!
I'm 47 and I still love doing this stuff....what's the expression..."Use it or loose it?" Too cooll!!!!!
Rebecca,
If there's snow on a hill, and a sled, or something to slide down it nearby.....I'm there!! So fun...whether you're young or old!
Michael
Lottie.....sounds wonderful!
Larry.....never too old for fun!!!
Michael.....you've got that right!
Hi Rebecca, the last few days have been cold here, as far as I'm concerned it could have snowed just as well. Then I could have enjoyed a little sledding as well! And of course the warming up with hot chocolate afterwards.
Rebecca...
When I was a kid in Pittsburgh we had a blast when it snowed. As you said, "oh to be young again!"
Rebecca, I also love the snowmen...I like to make sure to get one of those up before the snow all melts...my goal is to have one big enough, so it is the last survivor on the street. We have limited (maybe 3) snowfalls a year. Luckily, the city kind of closes for it...which I, personally love!
Silvia.....I agree if it is going to be cold, give me some snow. I did provide hot chocolate and candy to the children.
Richard.....it is a blast when it snows...if I can't play in it...I sure can enjoy the beauty.
Jane.....the children started building a snowmen, but never finished it, as they were interested in sleighing.
Hi Rebecca:
Hope you feel better soon and get a chance to get out there in the snow!
Toula.....the next snow, I'll be outside with the kids, being a kid.
