I got up about 6:30 a.m. today. When I opened the front door to let Zeke, my chocolate lab out, it was starting to snow. Within 30 minutes, this is what I saw.

From the front door

View from the back deck
The accumulation so far is about five inches of snow, and it is still snowing. The neighbor's children are sleigh riding in our yard, as the yard is sloped in the back and excellent for sleighing.

Ah, it is beginning to really feel like Christmas!!!!!

Beautiful! There's something about snow that softens all the cold, grey everything and makes it all OK, don't you think? Thanks for sharing these, Rebecca...they put a smile on my face. BTW, GORGEOUS neighbourhood and property! -- Tanya in Montreal
Rebecca:
Thanks for the lovely pictures, it seems like its snowing in many parts of the US. Being on AR you really get a wonderful view of our country. Happy Holidays.
I agree with Ron and Alexandra... it IS fun to see what's going on in the neck of the woods of other members. Just saw a picture of someone in NC, and it had just started snowing there, too!
It is coming this way tonight and I have an open house tomorrow(Ma) oh well we just deal with it..It will cover the dirty grass...LOL
Rebecca, that is one beautiful view from your deck...reminds me a little of my home in northern Illinois. We had about 1/4"-1/2" of snow this morning...pretty but not nearly as nice as what you got.
We're much colder, all of a sudden. And it DOES make it feel more like Christmas. I'm hoping for snow when a system comes through Monday and Tuesday. Beautiful pictures.
Tanya.....Yes, I agree snow makes everything beautiful and serene.
Ron and Alexandria.....I also like AR for the same reason, you get to see what is going on around the country.
Ruth.....two of my sisters live in NC...they love to see the snow.
Dennis.....good luck on your open house!!
Nick......yes, we have a beautiful view from our deck..in the summer we sit out there and just watch the moon and stars.
Leslie.....THank you...and enjoy the snow.
Oh, it's so beautiful, Rebecca. We just got our first snow in Murphy, NC today too. Not enough for sledding or tubing though. Let the Christmas music begin!
That first photo could easily be a postcard; beautiful photos and a wonderful time of the year. Merry Christmas to all.
Lee and Carol.....Oh, I forgot about tubing....that is so much fun.
Teral.....I thought so too, and forwarded the picture to my neighbor, in case they want to use it on a Christmas card next year.
Rebecca,
Great pictures! There's about 20 inches of snow outside my door right now. It snowed ALL day yesterday. It really put me in the holiday spirit. Thanks for sharing your pictures.
Carra.....WOW, 20 inches of snow....I bet you have some great photos to post.
