Twas the month before Christmas*
*When all through our land,*
*Not a Christian was praying*
*Nor taking a stand.*
*See the PC Police had taken away,*
*The reason for Christmas - no one could say.*
*The children were told by their schools not to sing,*
*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.*
*It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say*
* December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.*
*Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit*
*Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!*
*CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod*
*Something was changing, something quite odd! *
*Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa*
*In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.*
*As Targets were hanging their trees upside down*
* At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.*
*At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears*
*You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.*
*Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty*
*Are words that were used to intimidate me.*
*Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen*
*On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !*
*At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter*
*To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.*
*And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith*
* Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace*
*The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded*
*The reason for the season, stopped before it started.*
*So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'*
*Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.*
*Choose your words carefully, choose what you say*
*Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS ,
not Happy Holiday !*
Please, all Christians join together and
wish everyone you meet during the
holidays a
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Christ is The Reason for the Christ-mas Season!

Although I don't blast the speakers (maybe I should) I will never, I pray, lose sight of the reason for the season. I love the paragraph about Clinton, Kerry, etc. that is creative. You know everyone has tolerance for everyone, but a Christian. We are quickly becoming a very unChristian nation. I will never force Christ on anyone, but I won't be ashamed either :)
Steve, Thanks for your comments. I am with you on the last statement..."I will never force Christ on anyone, but I won't be ashamed either."
Rebecca- a few years ago, my daughter was teaching sixth grade at a school in the Dallas area. They had a mandatory teachers meeting one day and were all told they would be required to teach a segment on Ramadan, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah. They would not be teaching anything on Christmas. In fact, they were told not to mention Christmas or there would be disciplinary action. My daughter stood up and asked if they were serious. The District Superintendent said that "yes" she was serious and there was to be no mention of Christmas. My daughter told her "Then y'all better get yourselves a big ass lawyer because I'm a Christian and I will sue you. I am perfectly willing to teach a segment on each of the other reasons to celebrate the season but if you exclude Christmas I will sue you". There was dead silence in the room.
Later, several other teachers came to her privately and thanked her for speaking up - and the school district relented. They taught a segment on Christmas too. I was so proud of her!
Jane, WOW, and I am so proud of your daughter for speaking up...we need more people like her. Thanks for sharing this information.
I saw this as an e-mail come through yesterday so I forwarded to everyone I know. I love the part about the celebrating "Winter Break" while sitting near your "Dream Team" drinking Starbucks. Ahh, the religion of Secularism, pretty sad.
It really is interesting how things have so changed the last 20 years. Merry Christmas - and that's where it's going to stay with me! How is that all the other religions get they holidays - but Christmas has turned into a 'holiday' rather than a religious day. Very cool of Jane's daughter to do what she did. BRAVO!
BTW :) How are you doing today? Much better I hope!
Hi Rebecca.... this poem was lit me up almost as brightly as did your smile!
Craig, yes, pretty sad indeed.
Anna, I agree BRAVO for Jane's daughter. I am doing much, much better since my surgery,. It has been15 days...I am just glad it is behind be now.
Diane, I am glad to hear that, and thanks for the compliment.
Great CHRISTmas poem post Rebecca. Way to go Jane's daughter too. How could they say to teach the other "celebrations" and not CHRISTmas?
Rebecca, I am re-blogging this! :)
Leilani
I would like to print this and read it at Thanksgiving to the family just for our own added awareness of what we see and hear or more accurately do not see or hear. Great poem!
Lee and Carol, and Leilani...thanks.
Pat, wonderful idea to read at Thanksgiving.
Many ways I could go here but today I'm led to direct us to 1Peter4:14-19 as we fearlessly proclaim
Merry CHRISTmas !!!!!!!!!!!!!
