I joined ActiveRain in September 2008. At first I would just read and comment on some posts, as I was somewhat fearful to start blogging. I wrote my first post two months later. Then, came frustration. Oh my goodness I remember trying so hard to do a banner for my blog. Believe me, it drove me CRAZZZY. I had commented on Jesse Clifton's banner and asked him for some advice. To my surprise, he emailed me not one, but five different banners. I thought how nice is that. I have never forgotten his helpfulness. I entered a newbie contest and wrote about Jesse and his kindness.
Brad Andersohn received quite a few phone calls and emails from me in the beginning with "How Do I" questions. Today, there are so many tutorials for ActiveRain members (newbies and existing members) that it is overwhelming, and I am still learning something new everyday on this great network. Brad has an eBook and Manual, containing tips, tricks, how-to's and tutorials that are all about "how to get things done" on ActiveRain. This is definitely a keeper/bookmark.
This month is my one year anniversary. I can happily say that I now can do my own banners, add widgets, installed and use Mozilla Firefox, (I know longer use Internet Explorer), and so much, much more.
My memories when I first started Active Rain was FEAR............................................. Fear of the unknown..........blogging. But, then there came friends and tutorials......and look at me now...I'm blogging.
Thanks to Jesse and Brad my fear (and most of my frustration) is gone, gone, gone!

Happy Anniversary.. you just saved me some anxiety.. as I need to do a banner.. I downloaded firefox for the fun fonts and color (havent used it yet).. read a post on that last week.. need to add some better widgets on the side.. need to learn how to wrap the type around the pictures... but I did learn how to embed a video with the html and today I leaned from Pam C how to make the words a hyperlink.. so I am learning every day.. just now going on my 2nd month. I thank Anna Banana for inviting me to play in the rain after seeing something I posted on linked in... so that is my story.. and now I am going to bookmark this blog.. Thanks so much
