Dinner at the Stardust Cafe, Lewisburg, WV

A delightful evening with friends started with dinner at the Stardust Cafe and later a play at the Greenbrier Valley Theatre.  We had tickets for the play "Sherlock Holmes, The Final Adventure." by Steven Dietz.

If you are going to the Greenbrier Valley Theatre, the Stardust Café is the place to dine since it is right across the street from the theatre.

Stardust CafeThe Stardust Cafe is fine dining and a casual atmosphere with lots of character and charm.  When you walk in there is a large glass case full of yummy delicious desserts.  The desserts are made by a local baker, Hall Hitzig, known as the Crazy Baker.  Makes you want to skip the meal and go right to dessert.

Elizabeth Destiny is the owner of the Stardust Café, which use to be a meat market.  Elizabeth, everyone calls her Destiny, has been the owner for the past five years.  She uses only local produce, breads and pastries.  BTW, the Crazy Baker is her brother.

Her staff is just lovely...REALLY!  The waitresses were all dressed in black short length dresses with pearls....very classy.

Stardust Cafe, Lewisburg WV Our table consisted of ten people, and our waitress, Sparrow, was outstanding... and with our crowd she handled our table with ease and a great attitude.  The menu is short but sweet, and includes appetizers, soups, salads, and entrees.

Stardust Cafe, Lewisburg WV Sparrow took our drink orders, and then brought us this delicious  bread served with balsamic reduction and olive oil.  Next, we were served fresh salads.  The table orders for the evening varied from salmon, tuna, grilled shrimp and pork filets.  I ordered the pork dish with garlic mashed potatoes and fresh asparagus...and it was absolutely delicious!  The pork almost melted in my mouth it was so tender...and the sauce was out of this world GOOD.  The food was terrific, as always.  I have always had a good meal at the Stardust Café.

We did not have time for desserts...which saddened me as I wanted to try the sticky toffee pudding.  I've heard this is soooo good and made by the Crazy Baker.  I am thinking of ordering this dessert for gifts.

When visiting or shopping in Lewisburg, stop by the Stardust Cafe for coffee and pastries, breakfast, lunch, or wine and appetizers in the late afternoon.  A word to the wise... dinner reservations is highly recommended.   All the tables were filled and I noticed people walking in and buying coffee and desserts to go.  Some actually returned an hour later in hopes to finding a table open.

As I mentioned, the food was delicious and delightfully presented.  See the pictures.
