For the past few years the students at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM), have supported CASA's annual fund raising event, "A Child's Hope". This year's CASA event was no different. Ten students from WVSOM donated their time and services to this worthy cause to help the abuse and neglected children in West Virginia.
The WVSOM students who helped with this year's event were: Thuy Nguyen, Cullen Herout, Angela Rims, Gloria Santayana, Aileen Ruffino, Vidhi Patel, Kendra Stone, Derek Ballas, Patrick Antonio, and Jane Donovan.
Lewisburg is home to the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. It is one of 26 osteopathic medical schools in the United States. WVSOM is one of three medical schools in West Virginia and the sole institution that grants the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree. WVSOM currently has approximately 700 students enrolled. By the Fall 2009, there will be 800 students. That number should hold steady and will serve as WVSOM's enrollment figure for the immediate future.
The WVSOM is a public institution that trains medical students for careers in osteopathic medicine with a focus on primary care and rural medicine. WVSOM is a great place to become a great doctor.
If you are planning on attending medical school, call 800-356-7836 for more information, or browse the WVSOM website.

Thanks to the WVSOM students for help making CASA's fund raising event successful. The students were a delight to have at this event, and so helpful, not only in serving, but ensuring we had cleaned Cooper Gallery before leaving. I have no doubt that these young men and women will make great doctors!
