On Thursday, June 10, 2010, Delta and The Greenbrier launched daily, non-stop air service to Greenbrier Valley Airport from Atlanta and New York's LaGuardia launching year-round flights from two of the nation's largest cities to The Greenbrier on Delta Air Lines.
Jim Justice, chairman and owner of The Greenbrier; Governor Joe Manchin III; Senator Jesse Guills; and, Betty Crooksjanks, president of the Greenbrier County Commission along with numerous local business and political leaders were present at the airport to celebrate the first flight and welcome passengers. Justice was instrumental in bringing the flights to Greenbrier Vallkey to facilitate travel to the luxury resort and to support the region's economic growth.
"Our agreement with Delta Air Lines brings a level of travel convenience to The Greenbrier previously unseen," said Jim Justice. "These flights make it easier for people across the United States and Europe to visit. There is so much excitement now, with our new entertainment complex, restaurants and upscale retail boutiques, and of course, The Greenbrier Classic."
The new flights will utilize the CRJ-200 aircraft, a 50-seat regional jet, and shuttle passengers on the approximately hour and a half flight from both destinations. The flight schedule will be:
Atlanta
- Departs ATL at 10:50 AM Arriving LWB at 12:18 PM
- Departs LWB at 12:45 AM Arriving ATL 2:10 PM
New York
- Departs LGA at 1:30 PM Arriving LWB at 3:15 PM
- Departs LWB at 3:45 PM Arriving LGA at 5:20 PM
"I commend the Greenbrier County state and local officials, Jim Justice and Delta Air Lines for their partnership to bring this new air travel service to fruition," said Governor Manchin. "Air travel is one of the most covenient and key resources that will help sustain economic activity and tourism in the Greenbrier Valley region and across the entire Mountain State. This new air service will also be an asset to The Greenbrier, as it prepares to play host to one of the most anticipated golf competitions in our state's history....the Greenbrier Classic."
In celebration of the new flights, The Greenbrier is offering discounts on reservations when guests book airfare through Delta. Accommodations will start at $99 per night, including $25 free casino slot play coupon per room, 20 percent off one round of golf for two, and 10 percent off at The Greenbrier spa for two, with proof of a Delta ticket. Reservations must be made by June 30 for travel through August 31, 2010.
Flights are available via Delta, travel agents and other travel providers. Flights will be operated by Delta Connection carriers Atlantic Southwest Airlines and Pinnacle Airlines.
Passengers were personally greeted as they arrived by Jim Justice, owner of The Greenbrier, and Governor Manchin, and given welcoming gifts from the resort, the West Virginia Division of Tourism, Greenbrier County Convention and Visitors Bureau

and Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce. As passengers were entering the terminal, The Washington Street Strutters played "Country Roads Take Me Home," and The Greenbrier provided a light lunch of sandwiches, drinks, etc.

A fantastic Air Show was performed after the ceremony
by Scott Yoke in his silver plane.
"Anybody and everybody loves Greenbrier Valley when they get here, but it's been an obstacle course to get here," Justice said. "We've solved that today with the first flights from Atlanta and New York."
