Events at the Greenbrier Include Chefs Cooking during the 6th Annual Cast Iron Cook-Off and a Chance to Win during the Lucky Seat Drawing Event at the Casino.
This weekend, January 28 and 29, the Greenbrier will host two exciting events for registered and non-registered guests.
The Collaborative for 21st Century Appalachia, a non-profit organization formed to help West Virginia farmers and West Virginia chefs work together, will hold its 6th Annual Cast Iron Cook-Off at the resort.
In addition, The Casino Club is offering guests the opportunity to win big with the Lucky Seat event from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Saturday. All Player's Club members in the Casino Club will be eligible to win part of a Lucky Seat drawing totaling $4,500.
Every 10 minutes one lucky seat will be randomly selected for $100, $500 or $1,000 in G-Rewards. To be eligible, guests must play at least $1 in slot machine play within the drawing period. Non-registered guests may participate after registering with the Concierge for a Casino Club pass and signing up for a free Player’s Club membership. Guests may also join the Player’s Club online. A spectacular live production and happy hour toast at 5:00 pm will conclude the Lucky Seat festivities.
The Cook-Off also heats up on Saturday as ten culinary teams, led by some of the state’s most talented chefs and sous chefs, will prepare a four course meal featuring West Virginia grown and raised products. The competition, which is open to the public, begins at 10:00 am and concludes at 2:30 pm. Each team will also include eight amateur culinarians. The teams will prepare a four course meal prepared with West Virginia grown and raised products. The menus and recipes were developed by each team’s chef to be judged by hospitality industry and agri-business leaders.
