My husband and I were invited to the dress rehearsal of “The Rockin’ 50s: A Musical Revue,” on Thursday, and the only time cameras would be permitted. It was a fun evening watching the Greenbrier Entertainers sing and dance..... it made me want to get up and dance. The golden era of rock and roll shines as The Greenbrier salutes the unforgettable music of the 50s.
The Greenbrier Entertainers bring a classic collection of top hits from the 1950s to The Greenbrier Theatre. This show takes you back to the decade when rock and roll was king, music was played on 45's and teenagers danced with American Bandstand. “The Rockin’ 50s: A Musical Revue,” debuts Friday, June 24th in the resort’s theatre. This high energy, foot-tapping showcase of the rock and roll’s glory days will be performed every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening through September.
“The Rockin’ 50s” is a one-hour show of non-stop music and dancing by The Greenbrier’s talented performers. From Buddy Holly to Elvis to Little Richard to Chuck Berry, the musical hits of the 1950s are favorites among all generations. Songs include favorites such as "At the Hop," "Rock Around the Clock" and "Jailhouse Rock" as well as the romantic hits "Unchained Melody" and "The Great Pretender.” Below are some photos of the dancers:
