My brother, niece, husband and I visited The Greenbrier Resort over the weekend. It was just for a day to show my niece, Hannah, this fantastic resort only ten miles from our home in Lewisburg, WV.
My niece was very impressed with The Greenbrier as we walked through the halls. She was amazed at the beautiful, fresh bouquet of flowers on the tables throughout the Resort.

We loved the shops especially the women's clothing and jewelry shops. Our favorite stop was the Greenbrier Gourmet Shop where you will find everything for the kitchen, including food. Even my husband and brother liked this store.....for one reason....the food. While they enjoyed a cup of Starbucks coffee at the Gourmet Café, located inside the Gourmet Shoppe, my niece and I browsed through the Greenbrier's unique line of signature products. The Gourmet Shoppe carries the latest cooking tools and utensils, along with a vast selection of cookbooks.
While at the Greenbrier Gourmet Shoppe we were lucky to see a culinary demonstration by Michelle Masters. Michelle has been a Greenbrier Chef for 19 years, and was in the process of a demonstration. We were going to go to lunch, but decided to watch Michelle prepare fresh salmon and asparagus. It is always fun to watch food being prepared and you can always get some great tips....not to mention a sample.

Needless to say, I bought the skillet and sauces that were used to prepare the food. The food was prepared perfectly and everyone received a small plate of salmon and asparagus. Ummmm .....it was absolutely delicious.
Here is the recipe for the Wasabi Salmon:
- One 6-8 ounce salmon filet
- 1 Tablespoon Greenbrier Lemon Wasabi
- ¼ teaspoon Greenbrier Black Sesame Seeds
- Remove skin and blood vein. Place skinside down on a plate and place Greenbrier Lemon Wasabi Sauce on top and spread evenly. Dust the salmon with the black sesame seeds and place in a baking dish. Cook at 350 for 10 minutes or until desired doneness. (Serves 1)
It is so delicious and easy to prepare. If you cannot find the Wasabi Sauce, call the Greenbrier Gourmet Shoppe (800-321-1168), and they will be glad to mail an order.
If you are a guest at the Greenbrier or just stopping in to shop, or eat at one of the great restaurants, stop by the Gourmet Shoppe, browse, sip a Starbucks coffee, and watch one of Michelle's demonstrations. Her kitchen is opened at 11:00 a.m. and again at 2:00 p.m., from Tuesday through Saturday.
