The Greenbrier's Casino Club Grand Opening was held Friday,
July 2, 2010
It was an evening to remember....from the celebrities walking down the red carpet, to the fantastic steak and lobster dinner, to Lionel Richie's concert, and of course, the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the fabulous elegant, Monte Carlo-style casino.
As noted in the below video, it was indeed an evening to remember with friends and family, dancing 'til my feet hurt, and mingling with all the celebrities such as golf legends Lee Trevino, Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus; basketball players Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley; and the one and only Lionel Richie; and Raquel Welch, Debbie Reynolds, Brooke Shields, Jennifer Garner, Jayne Seymour, Jessica Simpson and Barbara Eden....just to name a few! The two gentlemen in the photo above are my husband Claude Gaujot and my brother Dan Vasvary....looking good in their tuxedoes!
The casino club is beautiful and tastefully decorated, and includes table games such as craps, roulette, blackjack, baccarat, poker varieties and poker tables in addition to slot machines. The interior was designed by Carleton Varney of Dorothy Draper & Company New York, the founder of which is credited for the vibrant restoration and redecoration of the resort in the 1940s.
Next BIG Event! The Greenbrier is hosting the PGA TOUR's newest event July 26 - August 1, 2010, as part of the FedExCup Series.......the Greenbrier Classic!
