Stepping Back in Time - A Humpback Covered Bridge in Covington, Virginia

Humpback Covered Bridge, Covington VAWe were in Covington, Virginia, with some friends sightseeing over the weekend.  Our first stop was the Falling Spring Falls, a majestic waterfall.  Then our friends suggested another place to visit near Covington.....the Humpback Covered Bridge

We had passed this exit many times on Interstate 64  traveling to our home in Lewisburg, WV.  What a site to behold.  Visiting this area was like stepping back in time...truly amazing.

The bridge is located on a 5-acre wayside park that includes a parking area, restrooms, a picnic area and access to Dunlap Creek. The park was very clean with many families having cook outs and/or swimming in the clean, clear water of Dunlap Creek.
