Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children
I support CASA of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit, West Virginia. Since this program became fully operational in 2004, 25 CASA volunteers have advocated for 167 local abused and neglected children. There have been 105 children placed in permanent and stable homes. This could not have been possible without the support CASA receives.
When foster children are bounced around, they can end up feeling homeless. Having their lives repeatedly uprooted leaves these children feeling alone and unwanted. YOU can ensure they'll have a safe, permanent home where they can thrive by being a CASA volunteer.
The mission of CASA of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit is to train and administer volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children through collaboration with social service agencies, legal counsel and other resources to obtain safe and permanent homes for those children. The program serves Greenbrier and Pocahontas Counties in southeastern West Virginia.
Not only my support, but all who volunteer and donate to CASA has aided the program in its growth over the past year:
- 62 children have been served and volunteers have donated over 3600 hours to advocate for their best interests.
- Hired part-time Volunteer Coordinators for Greenbrier and Pocahontas Counties to train and supervise the growing number of CASA volunteer advocates.
- New website launched www.CASAadvocates.org
This holiday season, please pay it forward……CASA humbly invites you to continue to BE THE DIFFERENCE in a child’s life. VOLUNTEER by becoming a CASA advocate and be the voice for a child. DONATE to your local program which operates on private funds to recruit and train volunteers. SHARE the word about CASA to help recruit volunteers.
