Jim Justice and Jerry West have joined together with the Miss West Virginia Scholarship Organization for the Jerry West- Jim Justice Invitational basketball game.
Date: Saturday, April 24, Justice will coach the Miss West Virginia contestants and West will coach the Lady Spartan Alumni Greats.
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: Greenbrier East High School gymnasium.
Ticket Information: Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students (ages 7-17). Children 6 and under are free. Tickets may be purchased at the school or reserved by calling 304-647-6464, extension 37.
Fun activities planned as part of the game includes:
- a Sash Dash
- a Hot Shot Contest, and
- a special raffle for autographed basketballs
The Greenbrier and Miss West Virginia Scholarship Organization, both committed to charitable endeavors, have partnered in this event.
In recognition of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month, proceeds from the game will benefit the WVU Children’s Hospital, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital , and CASA of the 11th Judicial Circuit, which serves Greenbrier and Pocahontas counties.
Leah Summers, executive director of the Miss West Virginia Scholarship Organization and former Miss West Virginia, said, "The Miss West Virginia Scholarship Organization is incredibly thrilled to be participating in this event that will raise money for two worthwhile organizations: CASA and WVU Children's Hospital. And, as if that wasn't enough, we will be able to conduct this fundraiser with true legends of West Virginia: The Greenbrier, Jim Justice and Jerry West.”
The game is part of the Miss West Virginia orientation weekend at The Greenbrier. Attendees will include all 2010 miss and teen contestants, parents as well as local directors and committees, and the state organization.
Come out for a fun evening of basketball, and help support Child Abuse Prevention Month.
