Roger PenceRoger stated "the main focus of Carolina Connection is not how many cars we have on the lot, but how many customers get the used car they want."  When asked about the name of his dealership he stated "this business specializes in cars that come from the southern region of the U.S  because used cars from the southern states typically have less rust and are in better condition than those that have been driven in the north....hence the name Carolina Connection."

My Family Accepts My ActiveRain Addiction, But Others Will Take Longer

I've been following Karen Kruschka's blogging for some time and I think that she is funny and a great writer. I love her hyper-localism posts.  I enjoyed reading this post as it really shows how addicted Karen is to Active Rain and blogging .... Comments have been disabled, so please go to Karen's post and leave her a comment about her addiction.

Via Karen Kruschka - Prince William, Fairfax ,Stafford County VA Real Estate Service (RE/MAX Olympic Realty):

Karen check

In the summer of 2007 practically every real estate trade magazine I read touted the advantages of blogging. One of the "biggies" was that it would enhance your possibility of making money. As you can see by the photo at the right I do enjoy receiving checks.

Our webmaster who is also a REALTOR® suggested I try Active Rain. The name seemed wierd, but it was free and I really liked that aspect.

As with most addictions it started innocently blogging 30 to 40 minutes a day when time permitted. My first post was on 8/27/2007. As many of you have experienced my early posts were short and didn't have any photos - to put it bluntly they were ghastly. However, it wasn't long before I wondered what the difference was between WYSIWYG and HTML. Then they introduced tutorials to help us blog better. That's a joke - it was a scheme to get us to blog more. Most of you know the sad story of spending every free moment scheming, thinking, planning, buying a better camera, photo editing software and on and on. I know I'm "preaching to the choir", but my "lifetime average" since Day One is 2 posts per day - I knew I was sick, but didn't even care

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Arthur
Even though my husband, Arthur, is a real estate broker and my partner I lived in fear he would set up an intervention. After all, I barely had time for him after blogging, business and all my other interests.

The stars must have been aligned right, because with no fanfare one day he said, "Since this blogging is working for us it might be wise for the two of us to be involved."
On March 12, 2008 another Kruschka joined the ranks of the afflicted on Active Rain. My joy and relief was unbelieveable. It may be hard to understand, but our relationship strengthened.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Max Kruschka

Then it happened again. Our son, Max, asked, "Would being on Active Rain help my business? My lawn service company is indirectly involved in real estate - we serve a lot of REALTORS®. Since you two don't talk about anything else, at least I would know what you're talking about."
This Christmas season just passed was one of the most rewarding of my life. On 12/12/2010 Max Kruschka entered his first post as a Rainmaker. Can you envision a wife and mother's joy knowing the entire family has followed her leadership?

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

However, my elation about people understanding my addiction was short lived. Business had interrupted my blogging, so I took my laptop to church with us last Sunday planning to use the opportunity ro do a little catchup. I thought it would be better if I started it before the service began so the congregration wouldn't have to hear the Windows® sign on signal.

I was surprised when an old friend and usher tapped me on the shoulder and said,

"Good morning, Karen, what's going on?"

"Hi, Tom. I'm just signing on to Active Rain, my favorite blog site

"Karen you certainly must know we Presbyterians do not allow cell phone calls, texting and blogging during worship service."

This "Conversion" May Take Longer

We Started the Kitchen Renovation

We have a condo in Arlington, Virginia and are in the process of renovating the kitchen.  Since my sister wanted the cabinets for her garage and to save us some money...... my husband, sister, brother-in-law and me drove four hours to start tearing up the kitchen.  This called for removing the appliances, cabinets, counter top, sink, removing wall tiles, and cleaning up the debris.

I confess that I have never done this before, and it felt good....like on one of those TV remodeling shows.   Removing the wall tiles under the cabinets was somewhat fun, except for bruised knuckles and some minor cuts...we finished the job in one day.  We loaded what cabinets would fit in the truck and were on our way after eight hours of work.  A contractor will be hanging new cabinets, installing new counter top, doing the plumbing and electrical, installing the appliances, etc.

Looks like a cyclone hit this room.... All in a days work....here is what the kitchen looks like now....will share photos of the completed renovation soon.
